This photo has been floating around our family for years and we finally got
it scanned in. My Aunt Ruth claims she out at the camp on Lake Champlain
gardening one afternoon. She was taking some pictures of pegonias and roses
that she planted earlier in the rose garden. She was walking down to the
dock to take a swim when she heard a splash! She looked up and saw Champ!
She snapped off one picture before he was gone.
Needless to say she didn’t swim there for a while!!
Of course everyone thinks that somehow it was a fake. We’ve had it analyzed
by the SUNY school of forensics and they can’t seem to verfiy it one way or
the other. One Scientist did say, off the record: “I’ve been a biologist
for 23 years and I have never seen a more compelling picture.”

Great picture, I know it’s real and I believe in Champ. To bad he didn’t show up for the family reunion Aug.9th, he could of swam by the picnic for everyone. Grandma Hagar(Stella) claims he swam by one summer day in front of about 25 people having a picnic, and none of them were drinking. Jon

What? its not possible to have a fish of that size and shape? And its kinda called leaving the camera at the docks, its pretty obvious shes not gonna go for a swim with the damn camera.

#3 “not retarded” didn’t read the commentary correctly…The Aunt was taking pics of her FLOWERS not going swimming. We believe there are many creatures in the deep waters of our planet!!

Whether or not the photo is real or it has been somehow been photoshopped is always going to be up for debate. And nobody except the photographer really knows the answer. But it’s nice that some things still remain a mystery. What I don’t understand is how some people don’t even think it’s possible! ANYTHING is possible!

I believe that you can’t really say something doesn’t exist just because you have never seen it. There are probably millions of creatures lurking in places that scientists have yet to discovered. nobody knows. as far as the picture I believe it could be real just for the simple fact you can tell it hasn’t been messed with because of the reflection in the water.
